Arthur W. Philip, 83 years of age. Passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2015. He was surrounded by the love of his family. Art was a forty-eight year resident of Oak Brook. The loving and loved husband of 58 years of Joan (nee) Netzel. Father of Amy (Jim) Raftis, Jessica (Bill) Worobec and Elisa (Curt) Mieloch. Dear grandfather of Ryan, Dan and Will Raftis, Claire and Ava Worobec, Grace and Emme Pruefer and 7 step grandchildren. Loving brother of James Pate (Nancy) Philip and Zilpha (Michael) Underwood. Art was a Marine who served in Korea, was employed by Oldsmobile Division of General Motors and was an automotive instructor and Joliet Junior College. He served as a Trustee in the Village of Oak Brook for twelve years, was a member of the Illinois Toll Highway Authority for nearly twenty years and was Chairman of the Board for the last four years of his term. He also served as Secretary of the Elmhurst Elks Lodge 1531 since 1993. He had many hobbies and was his happiest when he had his family and extended family around him. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 21 from 3 to 8 pm at the Pedersen Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N. York St., Elmhurst with an Elks Memorial Service at 7 pm. and where Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday 10 am.
